Cantadas Amigo

Blood on the wall of the old chicken coop
The farmer in outrageously perturbed
One hen is missing, two others injured
The leg trap appears undisturbed
Then the old man looks closer, at coyote's offering
Where the bait, used to be
Off in the distance a family sings
In contented harmony

        Wiley old' coyote
Disregard the stillness of the night
        Wiley old' coyote
        Nothing's wrong, or right
        Cantadas me amigo
Cantadas me amigo, we will love you forever
You will outlive the devil and howl in the light

Traveling through Dakota on a cold starlit night
On the edge of some podunk little town
Straightening my legs out, shivering a little
Standing there looking all around
Into the parking lot darkness when an old friend made contact
Someone I knew as a boy
I swear I just stood there with the North Dakota moonlight
Reflecting in tears of joy

        Wiley ol' coyote
Disregard the stillness of the night
        Wiley ol' coyote
        Nothing's wrong, or right
        Cantadas me amigo
Cantadas me amigo, we will love you forever
You will outlive the devil and howl in the light

Cantadas amigo, te guereemos para siempre.
Vas a vivir mas tiempo que el diablo, 'y gamir en la luz
