The Expert

The man at the service station is laughing at my car
He says with the choke wired open like that, you won't be getting very far
I smiled and I nodded my head, I couldn't think of nothing to say
I've driven across several states several times with the choke wired just that  way

        But he's an expert
        He says he knows better than you
        He's got the stuff to prove it all too
        he knows just what to do
        And he'll get right to it just as soon as you

        And lay all your cards on the table

The woman at the bank this morning, said she knew that I would understand
It really wasn't missing it just wasn't there, and after all it's only just a couple of  grand
The computer isn't really malicious, it's probably only playing a game
And how could you not like a major corporation with America in it's name

The woman at the big hospital, she knew exactly how I must feel
She'd had a friend who'd had an uncle who's wife did the same thing
They found his body in a cotton field
She told me I was lucky just to be alive at all, I said I didn't feel like it then
That must have indicated something cause she took a deep breath and started  all over again
