Heard About It
©1992 Dakota Sid Clifford
There's things around that leave us each bewildered
No exceptions to the rule
Some obviously ignore, what others clearly choose to notice
When the tallest one is standing on a stool
If you feel it in your heart you can believe it
If you see it with your own eyes,
Believe in half of what you saw
But if you heard about it
From someone who heard about it
You just heard about it, that's all
We likely do what is requested
We tend to mend the squeaky wheel
We blindly try what is repeatedly suggested
And go away convinced we got a deal
If you feel it in your heart you can believe it
If you see it with your own eyes,
Believe in half of what you saw
But if you heard about it
From someone who heard about it
You just heard about it, that's all
Instrumental;
We put our faith in funny places
Trust in "them" to do what's right for "thee"
After all, they'd let us know if there were any danger
And we could all go watch it on T.V.
If you feel it in your heart you can believe it
If you see it with your own eyes,
Believe in half of what you saw
But if you heard about it
From someone who heard about it
You just heard about it, that's all
Repeat verse one
