Legendary Folk Rumor

Y'all heard about the poodle in the microwave
And Jack rabbits with antlers like a deer
And then there's Nessie and Bigfoot
And what the Mexicans put in the beer
You might inquire about the circles in the wheat fields
The media's got Martians on their mind
Somewhere on the seas of Bermuda
There's a triangle that bends the flow of time
It's a legendary folk rumor
A genuine delusion guaranteed
All you got to do, is microwave you a poodle or two
And you could be a legendary folk rumor too
I come from a real nice family, up in North Dakota
Eleven kids, all yodeled real sweet
Folks said, "how'd you all learn that?" we'd say "no problem,
We got an outhouse with a brass toilet seat"
I've sang in every state in this here country
And that's generally a thing of which I'm proud
I wouldn't say that folklore is forgotten
But it sure is gettin' lost out in the crowd
Legendary folk rumor
A genuine delusion guaranteed
All you got to do, is travel a million miles a year,
do all the booking, send out the promo, get a record label,
set up interviews, keep the truck running, haul all the equipment,
do all the driving, never sleep, never be grouchy,
try to make it home at Christmas and,,,
oh yeh,,....sit right down and go yodel-odle-ooh.....
And you can be a legendary folk rumor too.
