It’s My Eternity
©2001 Dakota Sid Clifford

When fishing feels like too much work
And drinking beer takes too much time
My smiley face takes on a smirk
And innocence is guilty of the crime

ll sail my boat on any ocean
Where dreams of Texas let me be
I’ll shift into eternal motion
After all, it’s my eternity

Just leave my body on the mountain
Feed the bears some grizzled meat
        Let the vultures gather ‘round
        Making all them vulture sounds
And finish what the bears don’t eat

Don’t put me in that ugly box
Or dress me up in fancy shoes
I’d rather you tie a bag up full of rocks
And let me sink into the blue

Don’t make me wear that brand new suit
;No stiff white shirt and a tie on me
That’d be the worst thing you could do
After all, it’s my eternity

Just leave my body on the mountain
Feed the bears some grizzled meat
        Let the vultures gather ‘round
        Making all them vulture sounds
And finish what the bears don’t eat
